History

In 1972 SARTEX (Swiss Association for Textilemarking) together with the consumer organisation and in agreement with the federal office of consumers demanded proposed and introduced the "Swiss Directives on Fibre Content Labelling of Textiles".

They were adopted by the organisation of the textile chain as well as the retail organisation.

These Directives have been amended in 1985 and 1998 according to the revision of the EU Regulation on Fibre Content Labelling of Textiles. Furtheron, Polyactid has been added in 2004 as an official fibre to the list of names and descriptions of fibres.
